La Jolla Concours is Back!
As the 2023 season concours season begins, it is important not to forget that Angelenos don’t have to travel all the way to Monterey for a premium concours experience. Instead ion looking north, head south instead to the world class La Jolla Concours. Even before you notice the over 150 premium automobiles from all generations of the car, you’ll feel the breeze sweep through your hair as this concours is located right on the waterfront. La Jolla packs three days of pure class all leading up to the pinnacle on Sunday. Friday starts off with “Beyond the Garden Gates, An Evening of Enchantment", a perfect kick off to put you in the mood. This year’s main class surrounds Duesenburg, so take your first look at these stunning pre war works of art for the first time at the party. Surrounding the cars, activates also include live music, San Francisco based delicacies, live auction, cocktails from a pro mixologist, entertainment, and more. Be up bright and early Saturday and put on your driving shoes for the Tour D’Elegance. Unlike many of these exclusive drives, the La Jolla Tour D’Elegance is open to everyone and includes a continental breakfast at a local car collection followed by a tour through the picturesque roads of Rancho Santa Fe leading to another private car collection. If the driving wasn’t already enough, entrants receive a point towards the event of a tie breaker in the Sunday Concours. Stroll through town in the afternoon and make sure you’ve eaten as you will want to spend your evening with Germany’s finest: Porsches on Prospect. Invite all your friends for this complimentary display of some of California’s finest Porsches placed right down La Jolla’s Prospect street. Don’t stay out too late however as you will want to be saving all your energy for Sunday’s main event. Though it lasts from 9am to 4pm, no amount of time could be spent to really understand the remarkable history and exceptionality that will be on display for 2023. Spanning a wide variety of automotive gems, 2023’s classes are Duesenberg, American classics, European classics, Mercedes Benz, Motorcycles, Race Cars, Corvette, 50’s American Luxury, Jaguar, European, Porsche, and Ferrari. Spend time walking the grounds, enjoying the food and drink, hearing the history, and admiring the cars with a fresh ocean breeze in the air throughout the whole day; what can be better than that.
